Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is located along the district border of Ontario between the twin cities of Niagara Falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario. The falls itself takes away your breath at the beauty it creates through the misty waters that cascade down in an abundance of sprays in a crest shaped configuration. Niagara Falls is composed of Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side and the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls on the United States side. This falls is not too high but exceptionally wide, a characteristic feature to Canada and the rest of the world and is an appealing site in its unique composition and wonderful location. Almost always you see a colorful rainbow at the heart of the falls, adding to its mysterious beauty.
A visit to Niagara Falls is not just about admiring the falls. You get a multitude of activities to entertain you for an entire day or more. Starting from the Maid of the Mist cruise which takes you to the base of the falls, helicopter rides offering a view from above to various other shops, restaurants, clubs, cafes, museums and game arcades that caters to both children and adults alike.
Jericho Beach
A popular beach stretch in Vancouver, Jericho offers an array of activities to the visiting tourist. Located west of Kitsilano, stretches of natural sandy beaches extends to a grassy area which encompasses the Jericho Beach Park, promoting it as an idea picnic ground. Once the site of Vancouver's first golf course, today the park offers an array of features for the holiday maker, with washroom facilities, play fields, tennis courts, picnic tables, pay parking and it also houses the Jericho Sailing Centre.
Originally called Jerry’s Cove after Jeremiah Rogers who ran a logging business in the area, Jericho beach of today is a number one holiday destination in Canada. The eastern part of the beach is crowded with swimmers and sun bathers, while the western beach is dedicated to windsurfers and sailboats. The Jericho Beach pier is an ideal location for fishing and watching the beautiful sunsets. Holiday makers love to play beach volleyball, fly kites and laze around in the sandy beaches along the stretch from Jericho to Locarno. Other specialties include occasional fire work displays, breathtaking view of the city, North Shore Mountains and the harbor.
Banff
A picturesque town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Banff is famous for the Gondola ride that offers a breathtaking view of the Tunnel Mountain, Bow River and the townscape of Banff, taking you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Located just 5 minutes drive away from the town of Banff, the Gondola carries you to an elevation of over 2200 meters, into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Upon Landing, any array of activities awaits you, with an observational deck that provides a breathtaking view, several restaurants, gift shops and a boardwalk which leads to several historic sites.
Casa Loma
One of Canada’s most visited historic mansions lie in Toronto, the capital city. The home of Sir Henry Mill Pellatt, designed by E.J. Lennox, Casa Loma was built in 1911 and consists of 98 rooms, massive stables and surrounding grounds, elevators and secret passages.
The elegantly decorated suites, beautifully landscaped gardens and the impressive architecture of this fairytale house were opened for public view in 1937. Many of the unfinished rooms have been turned into the Regimental Museum for The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada.
The tour of Casa Loma includes the Great Hall which is 60 inches high with sculpted figures, a Wurlitzer organ and beautiful oak beamed ceilings. The Library, with a collection of over ten thousand books, Dinning Room lined with Circassian walnut, The Conservatory with marble flooring, Peacock Alley, Sir Henry’s Study, Suite and Bathroom, Lady Pellatt’s suite in wedge wood blue, Guest Suite and other living quarters, Girl Guides Exhibit, The Socttish Tower on the east offering the highest view, The Norman Tower on the west with a lovely view of the city, Billiard Room, Gift Shop, Castle Café, Swimming Pool beneath the Conservatory, Wine Cellar, The Tunnel which runs 18 inches underground and connects with the stables and The Windsor Room intended to host the Royal Family.
Granville Island
A small island in Vancouver, British Columbia, Granville Island is a shopping paradise and a unique tourist destination.
